I get the impression that after some use that the bend is going to suffer metal fatigue and will eventually break. I'd opt for a tong with a hinge mechanism if I had it to do over. Rating:  - Great multi-purpose tongsI have had many tongs over the years but this is the best. It is simple yet elegant and can handle just about anything. We have used it for salads, steaks, chicken, etc. and the feel of the tongs are very sturdy. I would highly recommend this item. Rating: - Simple and elegantI love the look and feel of these tongs. The quality of the stainless steel seems very good, and the design is simple and elegant.
