This mug is not worth $5 much less the current price listed. It insulates well, but not noticeably better than more commonly available mugs. I was expecting the mug's lever to make a leak-free seal. However, I've found that it only resists leaks when *slightly* jostled. If you hold it upside-down, a steady-stream of liquid emerges for several seconds-it does stop, but the stream will return after righting the mug and re-tipping. Coffee leaves a distinct smell even after hand-washing. So, if you are looking for a mug that doesn't leak and can be washed in the dishwasher, continue looking!

Rating: - State of the Art
I've used travel mugs for years, and I've never had one that compares with the quality of this one. Nissan Thermos puts 'em together in a vacuum environment, and it's strong, nearly bulletproof. There's nothing else on the market that compares for heat retention.

If you like to keep your coffee hot, this is the one for you. Their tests show that 203 degree liquids are still at 174 degrees after six hours. I left mine in the car, played eighteen holes of golf, and the remainder was still good and hot!

Another reviewer complains about cleaning problems. Well, there IS a white seal under the cap that will eventually become coffee stained. So what? So is the white shirt I dripped coffee on from a previous, less leak-resistant mug.

If you turn it over, it will drip; but it's still the ultimate travel mug. I just ordered a spare in case the lid lever ever breaks on mine.

Rating: - Simple mod takes this tumbler beyond "Ultimate"
This is a great tumbler. I love it's sturdy construction and how it seals in warmth for so long. My only gripe is that it is a little bit too small for me.

The solution is to put the top from this tumbler on a "Nissan 18-Ounce Stainless-Steel Insulated Travel Tumbler"! These two have the same size threaded tops! Then you can have an 18-ounce tumbler with the "Ultimate"-style spill-proof spring lever top.
