Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It's a wooden pizza peel.
There's not much to say. It's a wooden pizza peel. I've found pizza peels somewhat difficult to locate locally, but this one doesn't vary substantially from the ones I did find.

My recommendation was going to be to buy this one because even with shipping, it was several dollars less than the store price (approx. the "list price" above.) HOWEVER, I noticed than in the couple of weeks since I ordered mine, the Amazon price has nearly doubled, so there's not much motivation to purchase this over buying one at a kitchen specialty shop unless you combine it with other items to get Super Saver shipping.

The point of a pizza peel, to me, is not as a serving platter with pizza parlor ambience, but is to prepare your pizza on it so you can slide it onto your preheated baking stone. Using a peel, a baking stone, and a hot oven (525F) are good steps to getting a good quality crust.

The instructions did say to season it with mineral oil. Maybe I will if I can figure out where to get mineral oil. I'm a little annoyed at having to go out of may way to buy something additional for which I have no other need to use this.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - If you make your own pizza, you have to have one of these!
If you make your own pizza, either by reheating a frozen or a custom fresh home-made pizza, this is a valuable must-have tool. It's relatively easy to use and washes up fine. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches and you'll feel like pro (but it won't make your pizza taste better).

My only complaint is storing it. It's too big to store in a drawer, and I don't have extra wall space to just hook it up. I hangs on my pantry door and annoyingly clunks every time I open it. But, that's minor.

FYI: If you can avoid cutting your pizza on the board, do so. It saves a lot of wear and tear on the board's surface, keeping it smooth for the pizza to slide on and off with. For cutting and serving, an aluminum pizza pan (or similar) does the trick without torturing your wooden pizza peel.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sassafras Pizza Peel
This pizza is great to use when making pizza at your house! The sharper, sloped edge of the paddle allows you get the pizza off the grill quickly and easily. It's also really fun to look like a pro pizza maker in front of family when using this, it makes your pizza (even if its ready-made) look homemade!
