The three most positive things about this can opener are (1) the can lid is left with no sharp edges, making it safer to handle and dispose of. (2) Even tall cans may be opened with this Krups product, as it is hand-held as opposed to standing on a counter with a limited height space for the can. (3) There is nothing to clean on this product. Since there is no "cutting blade," nothing gets "gunky" or dirty. It is light-weight and easy to operate by using your thumb to push the button to activate. Since the can sits on the counter or other flat service, a heavy or large can is not a problem.

The only problem one may encounter is getting the opener "connected" to the can lid. It isn't difficult, it just takes a little getting used to and the pros definitely outweigh the one slight con. I like my Krups Open Master so much, that when I had to live with a family member while recovering from surgery, I took my opener with me.

I have owned the Krups Can Opener for about FIVE years. I LOVE it compared to those "dirty" can-openers that "touch" the food and "contaminate" the food with those metal blades. This one has NO metal or anything else that touches the food. It PULLS the lid off WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING INSIDE THE CAN. I just "cleaned" my Krup and I looked at the metal parts. It was a "clean as a whistle"----and this is after FIVE years of use. Yes, it IS true that it takes a little "getting used to" to start the can---it "slips" off; BUT AFTER THE SECOND OR AT MOST THE THIRD TRY, IT CONNECTS PROPERLY AND STARTS TO TURN THE CAN AROUND until the lid is off. If you don't mind this "small" extra "effort" for the sake of CLEAN food, then this product is for you. Anyway, you can always return it if you can't get used to it. "Try it, I think you'll like it." :o)

Love this can opener, after using others for years, felt like I found the only one for me! Am in the process of looking for the best price on my third one.........Just used the other two till they finally gave out after many years!!!No other one will do! Wish I could find a great deal on a dozen, know I could sell them to the neighbors!
