Yeh, just what I need, a 'stainless' steel pan that stains. Pardon me, but when I purchase a stainless steel pan, I don't want to have to remember to think about how to 'follow directions' special to it when cleaning the dang thing. I got enough on my mind to have to remember to think that a certain stainless steel pot needs a different cleaning method and cleanser, not to mention having to use extra elbow grease to clean. I like it simple; cook, soak, clean. That's my method. Since purchasing this pan, I got an All Clad of similar style. Gee, no stain, my gain. Again, this Calphalon Stainless Stell pan cooks great, but since it discolors like the hot tailpipe of my honda motocycle, I'm cooking with All Clad. But not to worry, Calphalon; I just purchased the ten piece set of 'Calphalon One' at Costco for $410.00, and so far, I love them. And they recommend MY WAY of cleaning. And if you don't mind the extra work, this Calphalon Stainless Steel pan does cook great, and it's a bargain for the price.

Rating: - READ THE DIRECTIONS!
People who complain about the "color" of you pans--clean them with a mild abrasive, bon-ami or barkeeper's friend, JUST LIKE THE DIRECTIONS SAY!!! It might take some elbow grease, but it'll come right out. Calphalon is great, and the reviews on amazon can be helpful, however, alot of people who have more money than cooking sense buy this stuff as more of a status symbol, and then wonder "why things stick." Man oh man...

I love me some Calphalon.

Every pot/pan/baking tool I own is Calphalon. However, the stainless steel line is so hard to clean. The anondized aluminum is sometimes is chore, and requires a chore boy. However the stainless steel items are rarely used because they are so hard to keep clean. I should have just bought some steel pans from the local restraunt supply store.
