- What a great idea!!
True, this is just a measuring cup but it is so easy to use. The measurements are written on the inside so when you are pouring liquid in you can see how much you have. No more having to lift the cup and hold it level to see if you have the amount you need. I've had mine for a while and it's held up great...even being cleaned in the dishwasher. It's a great item that just makes things a little bit easier.

this is the sort of simple, obvious-once-it's-been-done idea that makes everyone say, 'why didn't i think of that?' it does make life in the kitchen a tinier bit easier.

while this is a great idea, i didn't give it five stars because of a minor problem: at least one american measurement is not on the inner ring, the part that lets you measure by looking into the cup, and it happens to be the measurement i use most often. i now know the metric equivalent for that measurement, but, since there is space on the inner ring, and the measurement is listed on the outside of the cup in the traditional way, it seems an odd omission.

now, all oxo has to do is bring out a quart measuring cup in the same style.

2/16/03. i've had two of these cups now almost a year. within a couple of months, one started showing stress lines and now at least one of those lines have become an actual leak. i do use them a lot in the microwave for boiling water for tea and coffee, and put them through the dishwasher, and its odd that one stood up to use and one didn't. however, this is something i have encountered with other oxo products over the past three or four years. but the cup is so convenient that i will replace it.

- A Truly Clever Design
Like other OXO Good Grips products, the handle is slip-resistant and comfortable to hold. What makes this cup better is that, in addition to the marks traditionally found on the outside of a cup, there are also marks INSIDE the cup!

Until I started using this measuring cup, I didn't realize how much effort it took to measure liquids. I'd pour something into a cup, bend down to look at the marks on the side, add or remove liquid, then bend down again to check the measurement. Measuring is so much more convenient with this OXO cup since you are able to view the inside marks from overhead.

Another reviewer mentions a problem with nesting. I have 2- and 4-cup OXO cups and haven't found this to be a problem: Just make sure the handle of the smaller cup is positioned adjacent to, not directly above, the handle of the larger cup.

The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because it's plastic, which limits the types of liquids that can be used in this cup.
