Rating: - One glass at a time
First let me say this is a great product. Have a couple of glasses of wine, put on the Vacu Vin, and when you go back to the bottle later that evening or maybe a week later it tastes freshly corked. My days of downing a whole bottle of wine (or several bottles) in one evening are gratefully behind me. I used to convince myself that an opened bottle would spoil, so I would have to drink the whole thing and I would pay for that the next day. Now with Vacu Vin I can just have a little and put the bottle aside. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and helps me save money on wine. Now, with 7 Vacu Vins I can keep open bottles of red, white, blush, port, Liebfraumilch, or whatever else ready to go. So whether I serve hot dogs or salmon croquettes I have the right wine ready, open, and fresh. I've even given one of my zebra finches (Vinnie Barbarino) the nickname Vacu Vin!

Rating: - A good product made better
I've been using Vacu Vin's previous model for years and have been happy with it. The one downside of the earlier offering was that wine lovers never knew when a vacuum was achieved. I used to overpump just to make sure the wine-damaging oxygen was out of the bottle.

I got this model in Napa a few months ago and I'm glad I did. While it doesn't deliver on its Concerto promise, it does give you reassuring clicks when a vacuum has been reached, enabling you to stop pumping sooner. It's a nice refinement.

The only downside over the previous model is that it won't work with the marinating device sold separately because the bottom is configured differently from the earlier model.

Rating: - Sucked the air right out
It took the air right out of the bottle so fast that I did not believe it was done. When you hear the clicking you know you have pumped enough times. After using it I bought 2 more to give away to my other wine lover friends.
