![]() Rating: - Disappointing product from an otherwise great brandI ordered this set of kitchen tools to replace some cheap grocery store items. I expected the quality to be a match for Kitchaid's wonderful stand mixers. I was rather disappointed when I received the tools. The handles are cheap looking plastic that was already scratched, and had noticeable mold lines. They also did not feel as substantial as one would expect from tools with such large handles, with the exception of the ice cream scoop, which has a sturdier handle. The Can Opener is clearly the centerpiece of the set, and is very nice looking and quite substantial; the ice cream scoop is also quite nice. I was disappointed with the grater, the plastic rim makes cleaning much more. The whisk and spatula and peeler were pretty basic but all of decent quality. I cannot attest to the durability of the products since I returned the items after inspecting them. I think the edges between the plastic and the metal would be difficult to clean. The metal parts of the tools are chrome-plated steel, I wonder about the long-term durability of the chrome, it seemed like it might be possible to chip it. I would have preferred bare stainless steel. These tools are certainly an improvement from the cheap items that I had, but I think there are other brands that for the same price will have better quality items for the same or even lower prices. In addition, I was disappointed to find that the items were made in China rather than in the USA like Kitchaid mixers and other products. Rating: - Best QualityEach if these tools represent the best materails and construction at a very reasonable price. The can opener beats Oxo by a mile. (The gears on my three-year-old Oxo just started slipping.) The spatula is silicone and is extremely sturdy. The grater is tops too. Get a set for your friend too! Rating: - Set is okay, but it has the worst graterOver all the set is fine and useable with one glaring exception - the cheese grater is cheap and poorly designed. I attempted to use it once on some asiago (not the hardest cheese either) and it barely grated anything; the metal began bending and it would have broken had i continued. Many of the tiny bits it actually did grate became gummed up in the overlapping plastic frame. If you need a cheese grater this set is not a good deal, the grater is a total waste in my opinion.
