![]() Rating: - Know your heat, get to know your cookwareI purchased this set of Emeril All-Clad today after reading all the critiques about it here. I washed it, prepared it for the fire and cooked with great success. I let it cool, then cleaned it with no stains or effort. I've been cooking since I was 5 years old and cooked on a wood stove. My mom was had a terminal illness and I had to learn to cook if I wanted to eat. The important thing is to know your fire and how it reacts to what you have to cook with. I've cooked on aluminum foil, stainless steel, cast aluminum, carbon steel, teflon, cast iron, just to name a few. It isn't so much about the cookware as the combination of it with your fire. The experienced cook knows how to juggle the combination. Emerilware worked just fantastic on my electric burners. I made a huge pot of gumbo and I'm about to sit down and enjoy. Love this cookware! Rating: - Good price without sacrificing serious quality!I purchased the Emerilware 10-piece stainless steel cookware set, and have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since! It heats food evenly, and has a good weight to it, though it's not too heavy to move around easily. After years of using a nonstick cookware set, I wonder why I didn't try stainless steel sooner! It's nice to actually be able to brown food. The pieces clean up easily. While it's alright to use steel wool on the brushed steel inside to clean off more stubborn food, don't use steel wool on the outside, as it may scratch the shiny, smooth outside finish or damage the copper band, which, by the way, adds an elegance to the look of the set that makes it suitable for hanging on display from a ceiling rack, for instance. I have found that the set includes all the pieces I would use on a routine basis, and many other pieces may be purchased separately for more specialized cooking needs. Definitely a good set to have if you want All-Clad's high manufacturing quality without paying the outrageous prices that All-Clad asks for it's name-branded sets. Rating: - Great deal for the moneyThe Emerilware Stainless is great cookware for the price. I really wish people would understand that pots and pans that are NOT non-stick can not be treated as if they were nonstick. First of all, you must preheat the pans and use some type of oil, fat, etc. Second, do not overheat these pans. A little over "medium" is about all you need unless you're just boiling water. Anything hotter than that will often cause the metal to look blueish until it is properly cleaned. This is true of all stainless cookware I've used. Also, the copper on the pot will tarnish because, IT IS COPPER. That's going to happen. So if you want the cookware to look nice and pretty then don't use them. If you actually plan to cook, this is some decent cookware at a decent price. (BTW, the copper cleans easily with Bar Keeper's Friend, or a common household solution such as lemon juice and salt). That said, I prefer All-Clad. (I plan on becoming a chef, and I'm insistent on having the best)
