I grew up using cast iron and as an adult in my own home did not have any cast iron pieces. Once I saw the pre-seasoned items here I decided to try them. I have been very pleased with this skillet, especially with the two handles. Cast iron is heavy and it's great having that other little handle to grab. Cooks like a dream and is easy to clean. Soak with some hot water (remember no soap!) and give it a light coating of oil once dry. I own the 10 1/4 skillet and had to have this one too!

Rating: - Great addition to my kitchen
First, I have a dozen or more pieces of Calphalon Commericial cookware. The stuff I have ranges in price from $50 to almost $200 a piece. I am in a believer of you pay for what you get when buying tools of any type (kitchen or shop tools). That is way I was not excited about spending [this little] on a big skillet. I didn't think I'd like it.

Well, I love it. The sear you get from cast iron is really great plus you can stir with one hand because the pan is so damn heavy. The clean up is easier than with non-cast iron I think.

Rating: - Great Multipurpose Pan
This pan is great! The pre-seasoning takes all the guess work out of cast iron. Nothing tastes like biscuits baked on a cast iron skillet...they rise perfectly and are crispy on bottom and flaky throughout. Yum! Bacon also cooks up much better on cast iron. Great pan for a great price!
