![]() Rating: - Simply the best...I am a tea snob. I am not ashamed to say, I want my tea the way I want it. This kettle is perfect in every way. It's easy to fill from the spout. It is functional in pouring - well balanced. It heats a full kettle in around 5 minutes to boiling. The base houses a wrap around function so you can make the cord as long/short as you want. Oh, and it's darn attractive too ;) In short: It's perfect. You like tea made the correct way? Get this kettle. Well worth the funds to purchase it. Rating: - From the kitchen to the dining room tableElegant styling and cool-to-the-touch bottom means I can heat water, pluck the kettle off the base unit, and put the it right onto the dining room table without a hot pad. This is fantastic for hot after-dinner drinks at a party. The base unit and kettle have a 360-degree attachment which allows the kettle to be connected to the base at any rotation making it easier to find a home for it in your kitchen. The base also has 'feet' so that the cord can come out of any side making it easy to located and keep the cord hidden. It's a small detail, but it shows the thought that went into the design. In addition, this teapot as all the advantages that a dedicated electric kettle has over a stovetop model: auto-shutoff (start it, jump in the shower, hot water is waiting when you get out), generally faster to boil water, and it doesn't occupy a burner nor get covered in grease splatters. The downside is that it's yet another appliance taking up counter space. So there are a few complaints: the Krups teakettle has a wide base so it does take up more of your counter than other models. We originally bought it for heating water upstairs, but found it far to big for our small bathroom. Other problems I have are that the handle is directly over the main opening making it somewhat awkward to open the lid and fill the pot. As another reviewer pointed out, the water level indicator is only good for full/empty measurements. I generally lift the kettle to see if I need to add water. I would like some audible sound when it finishes boiling. I've gotten so used to the start-it-and-leave-it that I often come back 20 minutes later having totally forgotten I was making tea. Anyhow, the problems I have with this teapot are mostly trivial and are so far outweighed by the advantages that I give it 5 stars and recommend it highly. It's a great gift for the tea-lover in your family. Rating: - Easy and attractiveThis is my first electric tea kettle and I have to say that I'm in love. The water heats quickly, the kettle has a large capacity and the automatic shut-off makes it easy to see when the water is done. It is also a very nicely designed appliance (that's, of course, not a reason to buy kitchenwares but it is nice when they look good.) It's easy to run and the cordless feature (the kettle goes on a small hot plate) makes it very convenient to carry around. I also liked the strainer feature. I only have two problems with this kettle. It is a little bit noisy so don't be alarmed at the boiling sounds. The gauge that shows how full the kettle is is hard to read when the kettle is held at an angle, such as when you would be filling it under the tap. Other than these minor problems, I am enjoying this kettle greatly and, short of a power outage, I can't see myself going back!
