Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works great, looks great.
I've had this kettle for about 2 months now and could not be happier. As with any stainless appliance the exterior can get very hot so it is not ideal for an area within a child's reach. Otherwise, it looks great in my kitchen, but more importantly does its job. Water boils quickly, it's simple to use, relatively quiet and extremely easy to clean.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Dangerous design
We bought this kettle - because we drink alot of tea. Ours was defective - the lid comes open unexpectedly as you pour releasing hot steam onto your hand. It is a painful surprise. The exterior is also hot - unsuitable to be around children.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Limited Useablity
I purchased this kettle less than a year ago. It worked fine for several months, but it has some design flaws, specifically in the manner that the kettle makes electrical contact with the "base" unit. The molded plastic base is thin and flimsy, and doesn't always allow for a nice connection. But, the genuine flaws are in the contacts in the "sockets" that are formed into the base of the kettle and the cordless base. The electrical contacts are very small, and in my opinion not able to handle the 1500 watts of current this kettle draws. Hence, the kettle can be filled and placed on the base.. and no current gets to the kettle. There's an alignment pin, in the center of the kettle's socket, that is smaller than a pencil lead, and it can get bent easily, aiding the misalignment of the contacts. I'm now searching for a different brand, hopefully one that will be simpler to use, and last much longer. After owning this kettle, I'll suggest that others consider these design flaws as they contemplate their next purchase.
